Creating Crime in Volusia……More Sex Stings
Sheriff Ben Johnson announced yet another Sex Sting in March of 2015 targeting prostitution and men on the Internet. Forty three arrests were made as a part of two operations. The sex stings called Operation Volusia Broadband and Operation Preda Tour 2015 targeted two different types of alleged sex crime. When the Sheriff went on television, he claimed as usual that he was protecting the public from horrible men targeting young underage girls on the Internet. The claims simply are not true and are merely an exaggeration to cover up what is really being done in these sex sting entrapment operations. In some cases, the police pose as parents offering children for sex. I have yet to see a single case in Florida of any real situation where a parent is offering a child. The police are not targeting actual crime. They are creating crimes. They are not interrupting crime, they are luring and tempting men into compromising situations. This is the exact same thing that happened in Bradenton with Operation Green Shepherd IV, just a week ago. The law enforcement agencies are getting huge sums of Federal money and have to justify it with arrests. The so called ICAC task forces are composed of various law enforcement groups such as local sheriff’s departments that need to justify taking money from the Feds.
More and more of the judges handling these cases are beginning to see the light and see what is really happening. If you are on the Internet and anyone even remotely suggests a meeting or tryst with a child, immediately terminate all contact, flag the posting and contact law enforcement. Prevention is the answer when it comes to crimes against children. There are no real parents, single moms or single dads on the Internet offering children. That is a total fiction created by the police to justify entrapment. The truth is that there are no 14 year old girls on the Internet that want to learn about sex. That is a total fiction created by the police to justify these sex sting operations. Internet dating is dangerous and now the police are using cell phone applications to match up unsuspecting men with fictional underage girls. The latest bait and switch involves child pornography and chat rooms. If you are on the Internet and anyone suggests any type of sexual activity with a person 13 or 14 walk away. Report suspicious activity to Craigslist,, or any other site that allows such postings. Law enforcement has also targeted the world’s oldest profession, women selling sex. They have taken it one step further and are posing as prostitutes. When a man accepts their offer, the police then try and create a felony by pretending to be under 18 years old. The police actually try and create a human trafficking crime. The best way to not get arrested is to not commit a crime. Do not interact with anyone on the Internet that even hints they are a minor. Month after month more men fall for the temptation of underage sex. Get real….there are no real children on the Internet seeking sex with older men. Most of the time, the real predators are the police and catch weak men that are not strong enough to walk away or terminate contact.

Is There Another Sex Sting In the Works for Manatee County?

Is There Another Sex Sting In the Works for Manatee County?
Many people feel that the police are entrapping law abiding citizens with some of the tactics they use in the Internet sex crime investigations. One of the police tactics under scrutiny involves posting ads as adults on like Craigslist, Backpage, Adam4Adam, kik, facebook and other dating and social media sites.
There are ads running right now, on March 2015, that are either being posted by the police or by real people seeking a sexual encounter with children. Either way, it should stop. The police should not pretend to be adults and then try and convince people to travel, seduce or meet children with the intent of having sex, create situations that would have harmful materials transmitted to a child or abuse a child without great harm … Internet transmission of harmful pictures without physical contact. One of the most recent ploys involves ads that use unusual tag lines hinting at sex like “Family Fun Time”. When you see an ad that talks about “a unique situation that is not for everyone” or “a Dad + 3 hit me up”, you should not respond even out of curiosity. If it is a real person, the ad should be flagged for removal. If it is the police, you could get in trouble for simply responding and asking questions.
If the police really wanted to stop the Internet Predators, the real ones, they need to take on the giants like Craigslist that routinely permit this type of stuff to happen. There is nothing wrong with adults hooking up with other adults on the Internet. It is wrong for adults to hook up with kids that are under 18. I do not believe there are any real children advertising on the Internet asking for sex. I do not believe there are any parents advertising for sex with their children. In my experience as a sex crime lawyer, every single ad that is posted like that in internet sex stings is done by a law enforcement agency like the FDLE, the Sheriff or some Police Department.
Another ploy being used by police involves “two sisters” or “two brothers”, one of which they will later tell you is underage. If you see anything that remotely hints at any type of incest relationship, do not respond. The best way to avoid being arrested is to not commit a crime. If you inquire, even out of curiosity, they may talk you into a compromising situation. Never travel to meet anyone who could even possibly be a minor. Lately, in Pinellas County, the police did not even mention age until the people were already in route.
The police are also responding to ads posted by adults. They target military men and then try and switch the conversation suggesting travel to meet a minor. They also try and file charges for “solicitation of a minor”. The truth is the police are the real sex predators preying on adults seeking adults. Do not get arrested for a crime you had no predisposition to commit.
My advice….Stay off Craigslist. Let me hear your opinion on this subject. You can visit my sex defense site at
I am not here to judge you. I am here to defend you.
For over thirty years I have been defending criminal cases of all types. Defending a gay defendant presents challenges that many criminal defense attorneys have not encountered. This is particularly true when the accusation involves a sex crime. It may be something as simple as a lewd and lascivious misdemeanor charge at a local park or beach or something more serious like child pornography or a Federal offense like child pornography. In my experience I have found that many of the cops are homophobic. The cops work the parks and gay hookup sites trying to entice gay defendants and in some instance actually soliciting sexual encounters. Entrapment is a defense to this type of police conduct.
The Internet Sex Stings also target men on Craigslist Casual Encounters and Adam4adam and other gay social media sites. The police undercover ads are terribly suggestive and outright entrapment. When a gay person responds, the cops know exactly what to say to make a meeting seem appealing and the police are actually trained in seducing and enticing a gay defendant. I have been defending Internet sex stings all over Florida for many years. I know how prejudiced the prosecutors, judges and jurors really are. Overcoming that prejudice is the first hurdle you have to overcome in defending a gay defendant.
Overcoming the embarrassment of the  sex sting arrest is the first problem. Friends and family sometime just don’t understand. At our criminal defense firm, we do. I am a former Federal prosecutor and my partner Sean O’Halloran is a former state prosecutor. We have both prosecuted and defended sex crimes for years. We understand the challenges in sex cases. Not all criminal defense lawyers really understand how to defend sex sting cases. I encourage you to visit our website devoted to the defense of sex crimes. Have You Chatted with a Sweetie?

Have You Chatted with a Sweetie?
Law enforcement has taken sex stings to a new level. You have to see this link. A cyber child has been created that pretends to be a ten year old girl. Thousands of men worldwide have been chatting with a computer simulated child funded by a Dutch financed program. In Australia, one man has already been convicted and sentenced to two years for chatting with a cyber child. With modern computer programs and the ability to create computer generated images you can safely assume that nothing is real anymore.
It is only a matter of time, if it hasn’t happened already, that law enforcement employs this new tool to their sex sting investigations. Our criminal justice system is broken when it comes to sex stings. The police continue to use entrapment techniques and lure more and more innocent men into compromising situations. The police now randomly contact men and try and talk them into sex with minor. The police are all over posting profiles as adults. The dating site then automatically matches the undercover profile with unsuspecting men looking for adult women. A man who has no intent of ever hooking up with a child then gets a picture of an adult woman on his phone. When he responds to the adult profile, the undercover chatter changes the age and tries to engage the unsuspecting man into texting with a goal of trying to lure him into sex. This is absolutely entrapment.
The police are also still putting up postings in adult sites and then after getting hits, pretending to be moms who want men to have sex with their teenage daughters. Men are still falling for this. There are no real moms on the Internet that want you to teach their daughters. If you see an ad that says “Single dad with daughter”……read no further. Flag the ad and report it to the police. If the Internet ads are flagged, it keeps real children off the Internet and that is the ultimate goal. The police need to focus on prevention and put their efforts towards keeping real children off the sites, not tempting otherwise innocent men into crime. As a sex sting lawyer I have been involved in dozens of cases and in most of them, the men were not seeking children. The police initiate the situation, and then if the men are not strong enough to walk away from temptation, they arrest them. If a loved one has been arrested in one of these stings, do not abandon them. There is a world of difference between being weak and being a predator. Harsh 2015 Sentences in Internet Sex Sting Cases in Florida

Harsh 2015 Sentences in Internet Sex Sting Cases in Florida
Judges in both Federal and State Court handed out long prison sentences in two Internet sex sting cases this past week. In DeFuniak Springs a man was sentenced as a result of operation “Turkey Hunt” to 25 years in State prison. The man had fallen for the internet sex sting undercover ploy where undercover officers pose as a mother offering her twelve year old daughter for sex. The man traveled to a location to meet the mother with intent to have sex with a child. The defendant in that case was also discharged from the Air Force after 19 years of service. Other men were sentenced in cyber child sting operations to sentences of 38 months, and 36 months.
In Lake Mary Florida, in a Federal case, a man was sentenced to 12 years in Federal Prison by a United States District Judge after falling for a similar pitch where the undercover sex sting officer posed as a father offering sex with two of his children ages 12 and 8. In that case the kids were being offered for $350 dollars. In both of the cases, the age of the alleged victim played a major role in the sentence. Both Judges were swayed by the age portrayed as twelve years old.
Law enforcement in 2015 sex sting operations continues to use the lure of a parent or guardian to get unsuspecting men to travel to meet a minor for sex. The best way to avoid being arrested is to never for a second even think about having sex with a minor. Never engage in any emails, chats or texts that even remotely relate to sex with a minor. There are no moms or dads on the Internet that want someone to teach their daughters about sex. There are no older sisters that want to educate a younger sister about sex. All of these ads are undercover police officers trying to make cases.
I do recognize the right of free speech in America but the Internet sites need to step up and limit access to the adult dating sites. In order to post, there should be age verification. If the police spent more effort keeping real children off the Internet it would solve the problem. For some reason, men continue to fall for the temptation of these suggestive ads. I have yet to see a situation where a real parent is offering a child. I suspect it does not exist but no one knows for sure. One thing for sure however is the fact that no one should ever even think about traveling to engage in sex with anyone underage. If you see such an ad, report it to the police and flag it. Keeping kids off of adult sites would be a great first step. If you or a family member have been arrested in a child sex sting operation in Bradenton, Manatee, Sarasota, Seminole, Polk, Broward, Dade, Collier, Brevard, Osceola, Lee or Pinellas and are facing charges of attempted child abuse, traveling to meet a minor after use of and electronic device, lure seduce or enticing a minor for purposes of having sex or have entrapment questions or need answers to questions regarding a loved one and a recent internet sex sting arrest call me, Peter D Aiken, for a free consultation, call 941 366 3506

Another Child Porn Sex Sting in Polk

4x5 056

Another Child Porn Sex Sting in Polk 2015
Just as I predicted, Grady Judd, the Sheriff in Polk County has run another Child Porn Sex Sting. Law enforcement is phasing down the typical Internet Sex Stings and focusing more on running pro-active Internet child pornography stings. In the most recent one, in February of 2015 twelve people were arrested and charged with various child pornography offenses. One of the men was so desperate he took his own life as police were approaching. It is sad that some people are so afraid of being arrested that they are willing to kill themselves for simply looking at pictures. In most of the cases, search warrants were executed. The latest operation dubbed Child Shield I was as usual kicked off with a Grady Judd press dog and pony show.
In the recent porn sex sting, a number of the arrests involved the use of the KIK cell phone application. In almost every case, the search warrant resulted in the seizure of additional evidence that will be the subject of forensic analysis. In one case, law enforcement found burned hard drives where one of the suspects had apparently tried to destroy content. Sadly, even if you accidently get child pornography on your computer, it is next to impossible to get rid of it. There are more child pornography sex stings running right now. The best way to avoid an arrest is to not commit the crime in the first place. In some cases, it is an addiction that needs to be treated and addressed. As a child pornography sting lawyer, I feel that jail in not the best answer. Many people who find themselves addicted to viewing it were in fact actual victims as children of sexual abuse. Society views them as horrible creatures who should rot in jail when in fact, as former victims, what they really need is psychological or psychiatric help. As a criminal defense lawyer, I learned long ago not to judge people. As a sex crime lawyer my job is to defend people accused of sex offenses. Life is not black and white as Grady Judd sees it. There are more than fifty shades of grey and in the law and there is no black and white when it comes to people’s lives.
Sometimes these cases have valid defenses. The child porn sting undercover operation may have involved entrapment. The child porn search warrant may have defects. The questioning regarding you and your computer containing child porn may have been illegal. The forensics report regarding child porn on your computer may be wrong. Never give up hope. Even if you are guilty, an experienced criminal defense sex crime lawyer may be able to reduce the consequences of whatever bad decisions you have made in the past. In the US task forces have been assigned to take down people downloading and sharing child porn in 2015. In Florida recent 2015 child pornography stings are the new sex stings. A child pornography investigation, indictment or arrest can destroy your life. There is however a world of difference between arrest for child pornography and convicted of child pornography. Hiring an experienced sex crime lawyer, a criminal lawyer that understands computers and the internet, may make the difference between winning and losing.
It is possible to view or download kiddie porn accidentally, often from a pop-up. Even more common is to accidentally acquire sexually explicit images of children as a result of peer-to-peer file sharing through the use of P2P software. Gnutella was the first decentralized network. Bearshare, Limewire and Frostwire are frontrunners in this file sharing known as “ultra peers”. Most recently sites such as Facebook, dating access site, and google sharing as well as emails and smart phones are monitored for hash values containing known child porn.
The FBI and sheriffs detectives regularly visit and monitor activity in these networks. If you receive child pornography, it can be traced to your IP address and a search warrant can be issued and served to you. Policing authorities monitoring internet security also hold you responsible for having an open public network which your internet provider may or may have not told you that you have.
When you hit “delete”, it does not delete an illegal child porn image. You may delete it from your search history or your directory but it still exists on your computer in “unallocated space” and can be recovered by law enforcement. You may find yourself arrested and facing a long prison sentence.
As a Sarasota child pornography lawyer, I have questioned forensic experts and detectives. Not all criminal lawyers understand how to defend cyber sex crimes. If you have been arrested for child pornography in Sarasota or Bradenton or have charges from Pinellas Sarasota, Manatee, Polk, Orange, Seminole, Highlands, Brevard, Osceola or Pasco County, call my criminal defense firm at 941.366.3506 for a free consultation or visit my website at: Sex Sting Lawyer
